We will post an update once a decision has been made.

The 88 Sacred Sites of Mie and Shikoku Temple No. 56, Miroku-ji, welcomes many visitors as a popular tourist destination.

As this is a temple open to tourists, photography is permitted here—including at sites designated as Important Cultural Properties by the national government and Cultural Properties by Mie Prefecture.

At Miroku-ji Temple, we offer experiences that convey the essence of Japanese Buddhism and Japanese culture.

From mid-June to mid-July, the hydrangeas are in full bloom.

No1:Zazen Experience(座禅体験)

This is a fundamental Zen practice in which one sits on a chair or the floor, straightens the spine, regulates one’s breathing, and calms the mind. By “simply sitting” without any specific goal, one can let go of daily stress and anxiety and reflect on one’s true self. This practice is believed to promote mental focus and refreshment, and in modern times, it has gained attention as a method for health and mindfulness.

No2:Sutra Copying Experience(写経体験)

This is a spiritual practice involving the hand-copying of Buddhist sutras (particularly the *Heart Sutra*). It is believed to offer numerous benefits, including mental focus, stress relief, brain stimulation, calligraphy practice, and honoring the memory of the deceased, and has become a popular hobby for its accessibility.

No3: Tea Ceremony Experience(茶道体験)

This is a traditional ceremony and etiquette in which the host prepares and serves matcha to the guest, who then partakes of it. It is not merely a ritual, but a comprehensive art form based on the spirit of “wabi-sabi,” where the host and guest engage in spiritual exchange and appreciate the beauty of the space and the utensils.
